Homeschool Alumni

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine would like to honor homeschool graduates (whether recent or not-so-recent) and their parents and families for their accomplishment in completing their high school studies. This is just a tiny sampling of homeschool alumni across the United States and around the world who are a credit to their families, their communities, and to homeschooling. As their lives show, homeschooling works! We hope that the homeschool grads featured below, on their diverse paths, will be an inspiration to you as you take your own homeschool students all the way through high school. This database is searchable by name, state, and year. Please check back often, as new faces will be added regularly. Congratulations, homeschool alumni. May God bless you as you follow His calling and find His purpose for your life!

Ben Green

Graduated:1999
After graduating high school, I worked for a year before joining the Air Force National Guard. I served in the Afghanistan Campaign and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I have my AA in Criminal Justice and have nearly finished my Business Administration degree. Along the way, I have enjoyed volunteering as a basketball coach, sports official, and firefighter. I was married to my beautiful wife, Sarah, three months ago and now live in Spokane, Washington where I work as a police officer.

Joshua Newborn

Graduated:2003
I was homeschooled through high school in Pennsylvania, graduated from high school in 2003 when I was 15 years old, attended Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA for a B.S. in political science and economics, and just graduated summa cum laude a little over a week ago with President Bush as my commencement speaker. I'll be going to LA for a summer film production internship, and then to Virginia in the fall for law school (most likely George Mason University).

Sarah Phippen Green

Graduated:2004
After graduating from high school in New York, I went to college, graduating as a registered nurse. Two days after I graduated college, I became engaged and started planning a wedding. The day after I was married, we moved to Spokane, Washington and I am currently employed as a nurse at a long term care facility. God has directed my life in the past and I look forward to seeing how He will direct it in the future.

Rebecca Turner

Graduated:2006
Since graduating high school in 2006, I've been working as a presenter in public school health classes speaking about abstinence until marriage, and have started a photography business called Trip the Light Photography. Although I thoroughly enjoy both jobs, my heart is in missions – especially for the inner-city and homeless population of our country. So, I am currently seeking God's will for how and where He would use me to reach them, while using the talent He's given me.

Kyle Contino

Graduated:2007
My name is Kyle Contino and I have been homeschooled for 13 years. The flexibility of homeschooling has allowed me to pursue a variety of interests, including sports, music, reading, carpentry, volunteer work, and entrepreneurial ventures. Homeschooling has also provided an ideal environment for learning how to work independently. After graduation I look forward to studying masonry at Williamson Trade School as well as pursuing my other professional and personal interests.

Mandy Corbett

Graduated:2007
Since finishing homeschooling, my family has been traveling around the united states. Going wherever we feel the Lord is leading us and whereever my dad gets work. We live in a 37 foot fifth wheel and there are five of us and three dogs. It's been quite an adventure and a very large blessing to be able to see and be a part of what God's doing throughout the United States. My family is currently in Oceano, California. I started dancing in a studio here in April. And am developing a gift that I long to use in surving the Lord. I have a huge heart for people and missions...and especially for my King.
